The 6 Best Coffee Shops in the South Loop

We love coffee shops, we love the south loop, and we love local businesses. Here is a list of the 6 best coffee shops in Chicago’s South Loop neighborhood.

Little Branch Cafe

Little Branch Cafe is our favorite brunch spot. They have a variety of breakfast and lunch foods, specialty drinks, gelato, and coffee. It is Fern’s favorite place to write blog posts.

Tea Pot Brew Bakery

The Tea Pot Brew Bakery is a black-owned-business that has some of the best teas and baked goods. It is the perfect walk-up coffee shop. The patio in the back is an urban dream.

Momentum Coffee

Momentum is on the Joe app, and I love the Chicken Sausage, Egg & Cheese Croissant for my morning commute. Momentum also has a work-collab space for all those work from home folks. Best part, this is a black-owned-business.

Spoke & Bird

The Spoke & Bird is located directly next to the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens. They have a patio with alcoholic beverages, coffee, and food. This is the best farm-to-table restaurant in the neighborhood. I love their blueberry muffin.

Chicago French Press

Chicago French Press is located in Roosevelt collection, perfect treat while shopping. They have the best iced vanilla latte I have ever had. The ice cubes are frozen cold brew coffee.

Overflow Coffee

Overflow Coffee is the best place to go if you have work to get done. It is a large storefront with a variety of seating and the tables are big enough for a computer and notebook. And just look at that exposed ceiling, our favorite.

  1. I haven’t had coffee yet today, and now I’m craving it! I wish there were more coffee shops like this in my college town, but there’s so few that aren’t massive chain shops.

  2. The Tea Pot Brew sounds like somewhere I’d wind up on the regular if I lived close by. I’m such a sucker for a good cafe. You’re making me wish I could teleport into this post to get my morning caffeine fix haha!
