Looking for a nature hike in McHenry County? We absolutely love Glacial Park. This nature escape is beautiful in the summer and winter. Our favorite time to visit Glacial Park is after a large snow fall. The views are breath-taking in the winter and a little now dust on the trees make it even prettier.
8 reasons why we love Glacial Park
1. The park is so large that every time you turn the corner you see endless breath taking views
2. There are multiple lookouts along the trail to pause and take in the view
3. There are multiple parking lots which makes it easy to choose a trail each time you visit
4. There are a few hills which makes you feel like you did a moderate exercise when you leave
5. The park has clear signage at the trail head and at all the trail intersections
6. Lots of birds calls, especially during migration season
7. The park is home to lots of endangered animals and plants
8. The park is so large that each time we visit, we have a new trail to hike
